YoungBodyMind.com is a new generation of anti-aging community for health-beauty conscious people to look, feel, and act forever young - aging at half the rate of their peers!
This site provide people with YBM LifeTM - the most optimized antiaging protocols for diet, caloric restriction, exercise, de-stress, hormone, and young look; empower people with knowledge - submit, vote, share, discover, promote information most relevant to health-beauty conscious people who want to look, feel, and act forever young; and provide people with a social environment - make like-interest and like-minded friends to share personal paths to perfect body and mind.
Challenge
YBM site was developed from scratch using Drupal 4.7. One of the challenges that the Gloscon team faced was the development of "liquid layout" for the site. Also the requirements for the site required customization of several modules or custom module development.
Solution
Below is the partial list of Drupal Modules in action. 1. buddylist and buddylistinvite: allows users to maintain their buddylist and send invitations to them. 2. contact_import: allows users to import contacts from other popular address books and other social networking sites. This was the custom module that utilizes import scripts provided by Octagen. Licence is required for using Octagen scripts. 3. forward: allows users to forward link of content to friends. 4. image & related modules: allows users to upload images to the site. 5. video: allows administrators ability to add video content on the site. 6. premium: allows site administrators to enable access to detailed content for specific roles. 7. privatemsg: allows users to communicate with other users of the site. 8. votingapi, vote_up_down: enables voting ability for the content on the site. 9. nice_menu: to generate dynamic menus.
Result
YBM has features that allows viewers to: 1. SUBMIT, VOTE, COMMENT on news in categories of health living, longevity, and spirituality etc. The most useful news are archived and propelled to the top based on viewers votes. 2. SUBMIT, VOTE, COMMENT on blogs from the members about products, protocols, success stories. The best member blog entries will be propelled to the top lists daily, monthly and yearly. 3. VIEW, VOTE, COMMENT on videos by experts in the field. The video present views on healthy lifestyle, diseases, anti-aging protocols and many more. 4. PARTICIPATE in several discussion forums related to healthy living. 5. MAKE friends in our community who help, encourage, team up with you in the particular areas of your interest. 6. INVITE friends from your address book or other social networking site or forward/share interesting content among friends or group. 7. EARN points and become popular member through content submission, voting, comments, and inviting more buddies!
