Building tools and challeneges faced during those!!!
Being a part of the Sales Cycle has its pluses and minuses, on one side, you always have to be quick in deciding whether its a go or a no-go decision and on the other, you have to make sure that you get all those fine details covered up. Since Gloscon is a vendor in both Drupal and Ruby on Rails services it becomes equally challenging to know more about both the technologies (and since I am no geek, it becomes all the more difficult).
Off late we have been working on how we can bypass this process of getting the details of the client before hand which can definitely help us in optimizing our sales cycle. Imagine you have all the information needed before initiating the call, as a sales person, i would be more than happy as it would help me in choosing the right questions before the client and projecting my services before them.
We faced some very intereting question such as:
1. Should we have a separate tool for finding information on Ruby on Rails since Gloscon is are also a Ruby on Rails Vendor.
2. Should we project our different services such as Drupal Module development, Drupal Themeing, Individual Drupal projects and Drupal offshore services and Ruby on Rails Offshore services.
3. The tools should be of which kind: Should that be a part of our estimates form, should it be an alltogether different exercise.
Implementation of this tool is also quite critical as this we believe should help the sales team in quickly getting details information about the prospective clients.
